Laura & Joseph: A Cathedral Wedding, A Legion Hall Celebration

Laura and Joseph were married at St Mary Cathedral, in a ceremony built on the same tradition and reverence every Nuptial Mass calls for. Photographing inside a working cathedral means staying out of the way — quiet positioning, patient timing, never once becoming part of the liturgy itself.

From the cathedral, the celebration moved to the Charles Johnson House at the American Legion — a space with its own character entirely, warm and unpretentious, built for a room full of people ready to celebrate without any of the formality of the ceremony that came before it.

That contrast is part of what makes a full wedding story worth telling. A single highlight reel can't hold both halves of a day like this — the reverence of the cathedral and the looseness of a Legion hall reception are different registers entirely, and a real story needs room for both.
